Skilled in the diagnosis and management general otolaryngology - adults and children with strong academic background in evidence based medicine. Special interests in the management of benign and cancerous growths of head and neck and skull based regions and also in Neurotogy. Neurotology includes treatment of vascular growths from the major blood vessels supplying the brain, facial nerve disorders, hearing restoration surgery including cochlear implantation and BAHA.
TRAINING:
University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH, USA:University of Cincinnati is one of the premier Institutes for Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgeries. The fellowship was in association with the Mayfield clinic, world pioneer in Neurosurgery. Received training in the management of Glomus tumor resection, Tranlabyrinthine and Transcochlear approaches, and complex ear surgeries and in Cochlear Implantations and Bone Anchored Hearing Aids.
Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, USA:One of the 12 centers recognized for clinical fellowship training in head and neck surgeries in USA and one of the center forming part of the National Cancer Network, responsible for formulating staging and treatment plans for cancers. Received training in the management of thyroids and complex head and neck cancers, anterior skull base approaches.
Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Cochin, India:The first center in the country to start a training programme in Head and Neck surgery recognized by the Medical Council of India.
Madurai Medical College, Madurai, India: Received my basic training in Otolaryngology.
EXPERIENCE:
Senior Consultant, Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore:Currently serving in this position since August 2006. Performed an average of 20 surgeries per month for the last 3 years. Pioneered Laser surgery at Apollo and have the largest number till date. Few of the rare procedures performed include operating on the largest parathyroid lesion reported in the medical literature, managed a very rare fourth branchial arch lesion in a two year old, operated on an extremely rare nasal schwannoma with intracranial extension, a large carotid body tumor enclosing the internal and external carotids and stenosis of trachea. Have received accolade from patients and press alike for patient care and for treating diseases which have been misdiagnosed and mistreated at other centers in India and abroad.
JIPMER: One of the premier teaching institute in India. Worked as senior resident, imparting training and teaching to post graduates in ENT and for undergraduate students.

7. A comprehensive Study of Penetrating Neck Injuries-Thesis submitted to the DR.M.G.R.Medical University, Chennai.
8. Aggressive fibromatosis in children-presented at the grand round at AIMS, Cochin.
Currently working on a book chapter on Sarcoidosis for the Encyclopedia of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck surgery.
Publications in progress include: Rare presentation of Carotid body tumor, Parathyroid adenoma with sterna extension-a case report, Nasal Schwannoma – A rare presentation.
