Medical Tourism Summary

Medical Services / Tourism Report, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Attractive weather and a large expatriate population support an already excellent medical community but it is bringing in tourists seeking better prices and first-rate service. Puerto Vallarta is Mexico’s most capable resort town in terms of medical care and has a robust medical tourism trade.

A lot of locals jumping into the medical tourism trade, but patient-beware; You don't want to deal with someone who is just referring you to whoever will pay the most for the referral (and they will not admit it).  In Mexico, particularly, this "referall-fee kick-back" process has a bad reputation.
