You need to know who your Surgeon is!

A normal Medical tourism company from any where, India, Croatia, Thailand, Mexico, Cuba, Costa Rica etc, would normally tell you that the surgeons they feature on their websites are the best. Are they? Do you believe that?

Did you know that many of the surgeons that are featured  "PAY" a monthly fee to the Medical Tourism Websites to be featured? No research ever goes into any of these surgeons. Why? Well, you tell me.

If you're surfing the web for a more affordable surgeon to perform your surgery, what draws you to that surgeon? Is it the nice website? Is it all the nice things that the Marketing expert has very intelligently put together in form of context and pictures to get you to want to go to this clinic? Sadly most people only ask to see a picture of a diploma or a license number to practice medicine. Some ask to see before and after pictures of their patients to see the type of work they do, " nothing wrong with that" Except that when did the patient travel 5-6 months later to take the after pictures?

Yes all of these things are important to ask before deciding on your surgeon. There are very few Medical Tourism companies that really go the extra mile to literally  research the surgeons they promote inside out and all over the world.

The fact is because a surgeon can hold a medical license in more than one country, chances are that if he gets it revoked for a number of logical reasons he can always move to a different country and practice Medicine there. It happens all of the time, I see it all of the time. There have been a number of times that I do back ground checks ( I have connections) and I find out that the license has been revoked in one country and yet they are legally practicing medicine.

This is why I put a lot of time and effort and encourage people that are thinking of traveling to any country for a surgical procedure to do their research, do a background check first in the U.S.A. would be more common, they revoke more medical licenses than any country in the world. I do it as I mentioned for my clients piece of mind but please do the research yourself too.  

There is nothing wrong with traveling outside the United States for healthcare Services, most countries including Mexico have 1st World class facilities with the most up-to-date medical equipment and use modern techniques.

Just be sure that the Medical Tourism company you go through is legit and legally working in the country that they are representing. Please don't go through a company ( like say one in Turkey) to get your Surgery in Mexico. Research a Medical Tourism company in the country that you are wanting to go to, so that you may even meet your facilitator. Bad Idea to never put a face to a voice when it comes to Healthcare : )
