Importance of Second Opinion

When I read the blog about how Michael Douglas could have benefitted from second opinion it just brought back memories about how three of my patients - One a medical tourist from Iraq and two other patients from India benefitted from a second opinion.

The first patient is an Iraqi General and was diagnosed to have Cancer of his right ear and was advised to undergo Lateral temporal Bone Resection. He chose to have the surgery with me. Since he was coming from Iraq and since he had already sent in his scans and HPE report I had made all arrangements for the surgery.
